Hamming It Up

So I mentioned the other day being on a mission to re-create the ham sammy on a biscuit Grau and I had in Yorktown. Well, I am happy to report that the mission has succeeded.
And it's better than my expectations!

The biscuits, while not exactly like the type we had in Yorktown, were excellent. Grau actually made them and they turned out beautifully. Tall, fluffly, buttery, buttermilk biscuits. I do think I am going to have him make all my biscuits from now on...and even butter my biscuits, too.

The ham is genuine Virginia Ham, purchased at the Virginia Ham Store in Surry, Virginia.

The dressing is my creation. Ok, re-creation.
Grau said the dressing was perfect. I did good!

It's a creamy chutney dressing that to get just right, I had to blend with my stick blender. But it worked and tastes absolutely perfect.

Will I give you the recipe? I don't think so.
I think I'm just bragging at this point.
So, if you are inclined,  make some of your own fabulous dressing with things you like and trust me, get the good ham. It'll be worth it!

  1. I know, how rude of me, right?
(and thanks Richmond! I thank Grau for making the awesome buttermilk biscuits!)

Okay- I'll make you a deal, I'll send you the recipe, but you cannot share it.

I have a goal in mind (for my future) and I think this recipe will be included.
